Abstract

The paper presents an architectural model of the access telecommunications network, which allows to separate the parts that are responsible for the organization of access as well as for the of the distribution and restorative segments. A key element of the model is the division of all equipment to the: access organization equipment and technical equipment of access provision. An number of analytical expressions that allow us to determine the number of active access equipment at all levels of the network and places for its installation on the basis of information about the area, development, population, competition and demand in a particular settlement and the access technology used. An algorithm which can be used as part of the method of choosing of the most promising techniques for particular locality and access technologies are provided.
