OPTIMIZATION OF MULTI-MODULE DESIGN OF THE OPTICAL CABLE CORE BY CRITERION OF MINIMUM COST

Abstract

In this work a study was carried out to optimize a multi-module core construction of double-layer optic cable on 144 optical fiber by criterion of minimum cost. To achieve the goal proposed two ways to change the values of the elements parameters of the second layer – increasing of helix packing step and decreasing of the tube diameter of the optical modules. The results of the research it was found that the decreasing of the cost of optic cables comparing to non-optimized design due to increasing of helix packing step of elements of the second layer is 0,88%, and by reducing the diameter of the optical modules tubes in the second layer – 8,75%.
